– Contrary to popular belief, it is not easy to completely redefine the rules of physics. After designing the fork housing from scratch, a brand new damper had to be developed to squeeze the last bit of power out of the RS-1. A difficult task, but RockShox brave it.
It was first re-examined how exhausted XC athletes produce efficient power and drive on tracks. For moments of maximum sprint efficiency, a stronger lockout was created. The rapid recovery system has been developed so that the fork can always be kept in the softest part of the suspension travel. Then, for maximum consistency, the air was released from the damping circuit. By adjusting the pressure level of the dig valve, successive strokes and sharp braking maneuvers can be cushioned. Superfluous material was removed and the cables were housed in a sealed sleeve for lighter weight. This can be easily maintained by your local bicycle dealer. Rock Shox believes the accelerator improves the performance of the RS-1,

Dig Valve:
RockShox has redesigned the rebound piston to accommodate the dig valve. It ensures optimum control of the low and high-speed compression and carefully controls the flow of oil so that the driver always has the right suspension and shock absorption. The newly developed piston allows the use of Rapid Recovery, a rebound adjustment that allows the shock to return to its original position faster after successive strokes for better traction and a more controlled ride.

Predictive Steering ™:
The unique suspension fork, axle and compression technologies merge and form the core of Predictive Steering ™. The suspension fork is extremely sturdy and, thanks to the large diameter of the Torque Tube axle, ensures an indestructible connection, which locks the submerged tubes and thus creates maximum torsional rigidity. The larger distance between hub and flange ensures a more robust and responsive impeller. The new Maxle Ultimate completes the connection with a larger and stronger clamping force than you would expect from a compression system with quick release.
